Intelligence lets you ask questions about your monitorQA data in plain language, review results as charts or numbers and explore what may be driving performance. This tutorial shows you how to start a conversation, use the Query Builder and turn useful analysis into a dashboard.
Intelligence is currently in beta with early access for select accounts. Contact your monitorQA account manager if you need access.
Step 1: Open Intelligence
From the left-hand menu, expand Analytics, then click Intelligence. This opens the workspace where you can explore your audit data.
Step 2: Ask Your First Question
In the Chat view, type your question in the Ask about your data field. For example: “Which locations are underperforming?” You can also use one of the suggested questions shown on the screen.
Click the up-arrow button to submit your question. Include a time period or location when you want to narrow the analysis, such as “What is our audit pass rate by location for the last month?”
Use + New thread to begin a separate conversation. Existing conversations appear under Threads, so you can return to an earlier analysis.
Step 3: Follow the Analysis
Intelligence works through your question and displays results in the conversation. Depending on the question, it may compare locations, check failed versus incomplete audits, and explain the findings. Let the response finish before reviewing the conclusion.
Step 4: Review Your Results
Results can appear as charts, tables, or KPI numbers alongside a written explanation. Use the display icons on a result card to switch between the available views.
In this example, Intelligence compares locations by pass rate, fail rate, incomplete rate and audit count. Check the date range and metric labels before interpreting a chart. Rates and counts represent different measures; use the table view when you need exact values.
The Pin option lets you keep a useful result for a dashboard. See in builder opens the result in the Query Builder so you can inspect or adjust the query.
Step 5: Ask Follow-up Questions
Read the written explanation below the results. In the example shown, Location #100 has an 87.8% pass rate across 475 audits, with 8.2% failed and 4.0% incomplete. Intelligence identifies failed audits as the larger contributor to the gap.
Continue in the same message field to explore further. For example, ask “Which templates have the most failed audits at Location #100?” or “Has its pass rate improved over the last three months?”
Review the amount of data behind an answer as well as the result. A small number of audits may not establish a trend. Intelligence can make mistakes, so double-check the underlying data before acting.
Step 6: Use the Query Builder
Click Builder in the top-right corner to define a query manually. Choose the Entity you want to analyze, then configure the available options:
View: Choose Total, Breakdown or List.
Measure: Select what you want to calculate, such as Avg score.
Group by: Choose how to break down the results, such as Template or Started by.
Filters: Narrow the results, for example by Audit status.
Click Run to execute your query. Choose an available result format: Table, Bar, Line, Pie, or KPI. Use Ask the agent when you want help developing the query.
The screenshot shows an error state. If you see “An unexpected error occurred”, try again later. If it continues, contact monitorQA support.
Step 7: Work in Split View
Click Split to display the conversation and Query Builder side by side. This lets you refer to the explanation while adjusting the query settings.
Use Run after changing the builder settings. Builder edits update the result in the builder; Ask the agent adds a new turn to the conversation. Click Chat or Builder to return to a single view.
Step 8: Create a Dashboard
When a conversation contains analysis you want to revisit, click Create dashboard at the top of the conversation. You can also use Pin on a result to keep it for a dashboard.
Open the Dashboards tab to return to your dashboards. Generate with AI provides another way to begin building a dashboard with Intelligence.
Step 9: Explore Your Dashboard
Select a dashboard from the list on the left. Review its tiles together to compare performance and identify areas that need attention.
Use the date range selector to adjust the reporting period. Where available, use the location selector to narrow the dashboard to the locations you want to review.
Click AI summary to generate a written overview of the dashboard. Review the summary against the tiles before using it in an update to your team.
Click Ask about this dashboard to explore the dashboard through a conversation. For example, ask which location needs attention or what is contributing to a low pass rate.
Step 10: Check Credits and Usage
To review your team’s Intelligence usage, go to Settings > Intelligence. This is separate from Analytics > Intelligence, where you ask questions and view dashboards.
The page shows your Credit balance, Requests over the last 30 days, and Credits used over the last 30 days. The Usage by member table shows questions, credits, and each member’s share of team usage.
Credits are used when your team asks Intelligence questions. Contact your monitorQA account manager for credit top-ups.
Summary
You can now ask questions about your data, explore the results with follow-up questions, refine queries in the Builder, and keep useful analysis in dashboards. Start with one operational question and use the results to decide what to investigate next.
