Key Fields let you capture important details once and automatically connect them to everything related in an audit. They act as meta fields that follow the audit or the section they belong to, so auditors never lose track of critical information.
What Key Fields Do
Key Fields help keep important context connected to the entire audit, a specific section, any corrective actions created under that section, and the final report. Instead of retyping the same information multiple times, the auditor enters it once and monitorQA applies it where needed.
How to Create a Key Field
- Go to Library in the left menu.
- Select Key Fields.
- Click Create Key Field.
- Enter a name for the field.
- Choose a response type.
- Turn on Attach to corrective actions if needed.
- Save.
Adding a Key Field to a Template
- Open an audit template.
- Go to the Build tab.
- Click Add key field.
- Choose the Key Field you want to include.
Where Key Fields Appear During an Audit
Key Fields appear at the top of the audit or section they are attached to. The auditor completes them once and the information becomes linked throughout the workflow.
How Key Fields Appear in Reports and Corrective Actions
Key Fields can be enabled to show in reports. When activated, they appear near the top of the report and corrective action to highlight important details.
Why Key Fields Matter
- Reduce repeated data entry.
- Keep important details consistent everywhere.
- Automatically carry key information into corrective actions.
- Improve clarity in reports.
- Ensure auditors do not miss critical identifiers.
